Whereas Rufus Hopkins of the town of Sycamore in said county did on the fourteenth day (14) of June 1856, appeal to us from an order and determination of the Commissioners of the town of DeKalb in refusing to vacate to wit so much of the road leading from DeKalb Center to Sycamore as lies between the east line of Rufus Hopkins land near C. E. Needham and the road leading from Coltonville to DeKalb Centre near the residence of L. G. Fisk at a point near the road leading from Sycamore to DeKalb Center intersects the Coltonville & DeKalb Center road.
A copy of which order as well as all the papers in relation to said appeal being annexed forming a part of this order.
And we having met at the Vermont House in the town of DeKalb on the 28th day of July and having spent some time in investigating the subject matter adjourned to the 28th day of August at (10) ten o’clock of the day at the same place to hear the proof and allegations of the parties and whereas such hearing having been heard in the premises and after having examined the road asked to be vacated and we having fully advised therein do order and determine that the order and determination of the said commissioners be and the same is in all they approved.
