Town Records of DeKalb Ill
DeKalb Feb 28th 1856
To the commissioners of Highways for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb State of Illinois, We the undersigned legal voters in said county & residing within three miles of the following described route, represent to your honorable body that it is proper that a road should be laid our upon the following described route.
Beginning at the depot ground of the Dixon Air line railroad & running a north easterly direction on the street leading by the steam mill owned by G. Brooks & between D. L. Kings dwelling house & that of O. F. Davy or at the north end of the aforesaid street thence running a northwest direction or the said direction of the aforesaid street to intersect the line running between lands owned by Lewis Huntley and Needham, Gibson & others thence running on the line through lands owned by Lewis Huntley & C. E. Needham Gibson & R. Hopkins to the angle in the line between R. Hopkins & O. Needham C. E. Needham, Gibson & thence running the same direction till it intersects the road running from Sycamore to DeKalb & you are hereby requested to cause said route to be surveyed & such proceedings to be made as is in law in such case provided.
