Special Town Meeting

It’s a Special Town Meeting held in the Town or South Grove County of DeKalb and State of Illinois at the school house in Dis. No. 2 on the 24th [may be 29th] day of January, A. D. 1965. The meeting was called to order by Town Clerk. A. C. Thompson esq. was on motion of Wm. T. Adee duly chosen to preside as moderator who first being duly sworn by S. S. Adee Town Clerk in said town entered upon the duties of his office.

The polls for said election were opened according to motion and continued open until four o’clock upon motion of A.B.. Byers voted that the polls be closed in half an hour. Carried.

The following is a statement of the result of votes by ballot for the election of officers at a special town meeting in the Town of South Grove in the County of DeKalb, State of Illinois, A. D. 1865 as publicly canvassed by the presiding officer at said meeting.

Wm. M. Byers had Sixty one votes for Justice of the Peace.

For tax on said for town military purposes Sixty one votes.
