Town of South Grove

We the Commissioners of Highways for the said town having been applied to by petition of certain legal voters residing within the limits prescribed by law of a road situate(?) in section 33 in said town to widen the same, and to divert it as a slough through the lands of Henry Mace for the distance the slough prevents passage over the original road.
We the said commissioners having viewed the objectionable part of said road, and have directed it accordingly and having hereunto annexed the survey plat of a competent surveyor, and heard the allegations of the parties interested and consider advantages for public convenience, we constitute that part of delineated and passing over the land of Henry Mace which we now therein particularly describe to wit. Commencing at the south half section corner of section 33, thence North on the half section line, through the lands of George Waterman on the West and Henry Mace on the East, 19 chains and 17 links, thence direct East through the land of Henry Mace 87 ½ links from said half section line, thence north through the land of Henry Mace 9 chains and 75 links computing(?) the width of the road for the distance herein attached as made part of the original road to measure 137 ½ links or 5 ½ rods, and we the said Commissioners having agreed to award (?) the said Henry Mace as a compensation for the land so taken from him and appropriated to public use for said Highway, the sum of fifteen dollars, and confirm ratify and establish the said portion of land now described as a part of said Highway.
