made by Mr. V. D. Miller, County Surveyor of DeKalb Co. It is therefore ordered and determined that the said road be and is hereby declared to be a Public Highway four rods wide the line of said survey being the Centre [sic] of said Road. In witness thereof we the said Commissioners have hereunto set our hands this 6th day of April A. D. 1868

Orders for Laying New Road

Whereas upon the application in writing of Thirteen legal Voters residing within three [miles] of the place where a road had been applied for to be laid out by them, a copy of their petition having been first duly posted up as required by law. We the Commissioners of Highways of said Town, did on the seventh day of March S D 1868 personally examine the route proposed in said petition for a Road Commencing at the gate on the line between A. B. Byers, and Jessie [Jesse] Tindall’s land and nearly East of the house of the said A. B. Byers, and running thence in an easterly direction until it intersect [sic] a road running North and South past the house of Jessie [Jesse] Tindall at a point at or near an angle in said road between the houses of Matthew Thompson and Jessie [Jesse] Tindall the owner of land over which the same is to pass is Jessie [Jesse] Tindall and having before determined to lay out said road fixed upon a time and place when and where we would meet to hear any reasons for or against the laying out of the same, and having caused written notice thereof to be posted up in three of [continued on next page]
