At a town Meeting held at the School House in South Grove in The Town of South Grove in the County of DeKalb State of Illinois on the fourth Day of April in the AD 1854 Philander Waterman was chosen Moderator and Peter M Deyoe Town Clerk the Following Named persons Rec’d the Number of votes set opposite there [their] Respective names for the following offices

For Supervisor Jesse Tindall Had Twenty five votes

For Supervisor Warren H Stebbins Had Twenty votes

For Town Clerk Peter M Deyoe Had Twenty votes

For Town Clerk Stephen SAdee Had Twenty five votes

For Assessor Wm. T Adee Had Twenty one votes

For Assessor James Byers Had Twenty three votes

For Collector Richard Becker Had Twenty one votes

For Collector James W Mason Had Twenty two votes

For Com of Highway Phineas Crandall Had Twenty two votes

“ Benjamin Worden Had Twenty votes

“ John B Orput Had Twenty one votes

“ Matthew Thompson Had Twenty four votes

“ Andrew Chapman Had Twenty three votes

“ John G. Mason Had Twenty four votes

For Justice of the Peace Philander Waterman Had Twenty one votes

“ William M Byers Had Forty three votes

“ Henry Safford Had Twenty two

For Constable Richard Becker Had Twenty one votes

“ George H Brown Had Twenty votes

“ Daniel Reynolds Had seaven [seven] votes

For Collector John L Mason Had one vote

For Cons John S Brown Had one vote

“ W Stebbens Had one vote

On Motion Voted that James Byers Jr be Elected pathmaster in District No 1 Carried

On Motion Voted that Elmore Bacon be Elected pathmaster in District No 2 lost

On Motion Voted that Wm P Deyoe be Elected pathmaster in District No 2 Carried

On Motion Voted that Matthew Thompson be Elected pathmaster in District 3 Carried

On Motion Voted that the laws concerning Fences Remain as they were Carried

On Motion Voted the bulls shall be permitted to run at large from the first of November to the first of July Carried

On Motion Voted that all horses be permitted to run at large accept Stallions Carried

On Motion Voted that hogs and sheep shall not run at large Carried
