At a meeting of the Commissioners of Highways of the Town of South Grove in the County of DeKalb at the house of Matthew Thompson in said Town on the twenty seventh day of February, we the commissioners having met and deliberated on the subject embrased [embraced] in their order it is ordered and declared by the said Commissioners and the following described Road to be a public highway to be four rods wide according to plat. The annexed Plat is a delineation of a survey made for a road on the 8th day of December 1853 in Township 41 North Range 3 East on the authority of a Mandate received from the Commissioners of highways for Said Township. The said road commissioners at the distance of one chain and twenty five links west of the bridge on State Road in sec. 15 running South 3 ½degrees East twenty Chains Thence South 22 degrees West Seventeen chains thence South 11 degrees West twelve chains and sixty six links thence West Fifteen Chains and five links thence South twenty chains thence West to South West corner of said sec 40 chains from thence continue west to a Post purporting to be the South west corner of South East Quarter of Sec 16 and measures forty chains and fifty links and terminates one chain and fifty links West of said post at an intended road to run thence North and meet the State road.
