Follows beginning at the North line of said Town of South Grove at the corners of sections four and five and running due South through said Town to the South line thereof, Having heard the proofs and allegations of the partied, We decide that so much of the decision aforesaid of said commissioners locating said road we confirm, and so much of Said report as allows no damages to said appealants [appellants] we revised in regard to the following persons appealants [appellants] aforesaid, we order that Abram Thomas be allowed the sum of Ten dollars, that Phineas Crandall be allowed the sum of forty dollars that Thomas Vanhorn agent for B. A. Shawl be allowed the sum of forty dollars that W. H. Stebins [Stebbins] be allowed the sum of one hundred dollars that Richard Becker be allowed the sum of twenty dollars, and that Joyn Sharp be allowed the sum of Twenty dollars Damages. Given under our hands this the 4th day of September A. D. 1854

Town of South Grove in the County of DeKalb to wit
Be it remembered that on the 18th day of July in the year of our Lord 1854 We the Commissioners of Highways in and for the Township convened for the purpose of taking into consideration ancertain memorial, signed by the legal number of qualified inhabitants of the Township aforesaid, and residing within the limits assigned by the Statutes relative to Highways, which said memorial Sets forth a requisition for a Highway to be laid out within the Said Township; and that the same shall commence at the distance of thre chains and sixty six links East of a hickery [hickory] Tree now standing and growing in the middle of the State Road, leading from South Grove to Sycamore, at the distance of eight chains, or there abouts [thereabouts] West of Jonathan Adee’s dwelling house, and to run thence southward through the several lands of Jonathan Adee, Benjamin Worden, James Orput, John Orput, William Orput,------Crill, ------Boice and others unknown nonresidents, and terminate at the South lim-
