(Talbot and Rickard road)

Be it remembered that on the 11th day of June in the year of our lord [Lord] one thousand eight hundred and fifty Eight at South Grove aforesaid in said Co. We the Commissioners of highways of the said town convened for the purpose of taking into consideration a memorial made to us for to lay out a new public highway in said township by twelve loyal voters all residing within the limits of prescribed by the Statute in the case made and provided & dated the 29th day Apr. in the year aforesaid& having viewed the premises & obtained a Survey plot of the same of a competent Surveyor are of the opinion that a road or highway is essential for the general accommodation in the locality where the same has been applied for and in pursuance of the plat and [?] to commence at the half sec. stone at the North line which bisects sec. 20 being on this road called (& commonly known) as Willard’s Road thence South through the lands of Peter Rickard on the West 40 ch.& on the East through the lands of John Millard & the land of Peter Rickard 20 ch. thence south on the land or Ch. Talbot on the west 40 ch& on the East through the land of StephenDice 20 ch.& parties unknown 20ch. thence South through the lands of parties unknown 60 ch.& through the land of W Millard 20 ch. on thewest ;& through the land of parties unknown 20 ch; through the land of James Renwick 20 ch.& through the land of John McKenzie 40 ch on the last, thence South through the land of Gillis 80ch on the west; &through the land of Bush 40 ch& through the land of Wiltsy 40 ch. on the east terminating at the half sec. stone on the South line of Sec 32. We therefore establish confirm & ratify the same as a public highway within the town and county aforementioned. Witness our hands hereunto set the day & year first above written
