Order for a Highway
Township of South Grove in the County of DeKalb to wit
Be it remembered that on the 30th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty five at South Grove aforesaid in the said County we the commissioners of Highways duly appointed for the Township aforesaid convened for the purpose of taking into consideration an application made to us for to lay out a public Highway within said Township said application being subscribed by twelve or more legal voters all residing within the limits prescribed by the Statute in that case provided
The same to commence at the quarter section stake on the line bisecting sections 18 and 19 to run east throu [through] the several lands of the parties therein names and to terminate at the south quarter section stake of Sec 16 We Therefore in pursuance of said statute having viewed the premises and obtained a survey plat of the same from a competent surveyor are unanimous in opinion that a publick [public] Highway is essential for general accommodation and convenient in the location where the same has been applied for and in conformity with the said application and survey that which are Hereunto annexed have agreed that the said publick [public] Highway shall commence at the quarter section stake on the line bisecting sections 18 and 19 and running East thro [through] the several lands of the following parties viz Jacob Rickards 20 chains 30 links Jacob Rickard and Philander Waterman 20 chains Peter Reickards and Aaron Mowers 39 chains and 80 links Adam Millard 39 chains and 92 links Samuel Millard and Shool See 40 chains 45 links terminating at the quarter stake on the south line of Section 16 being the School section and we the said commissioners establish confirm and ratify the same as a publick [public] Highway within the Township aforesaid in the said county in witness whereof we heretofor set our hands the day and year first above written.
