Annual Town meeting (sic) and Election.  April 5, 1921

Town meeting and Election held at the Town Hall.  The motion was made by W. R. Adee that ($750.00) Seven hundred and Fifty Dollars be raised for Township expenses.  Motion Seconded by W. Gibson.  A canvass for the ballots voted showed the following results.

For

Constable:  Geo Barnes rec’d three votes

Justice of the Peace:  Wm. Mason  three votes

School Trustee:  T. T. Vanartsdale eighty-nine votes

A special Tax vote was carried by the affirmitive (sic)by a majority of three votes.  Mens (sic) votes.  For 40 and against it 33.

Womens (sic)”  8    “       “             12

In accordance with petition duly signed be it resolved that the Special Tax above mentioned be “at the rate of Sixty-six cents on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property, including railroads in said Township of South Grove for a period of Five (5) years, for the purpose of construction and maintaining gravel, rock, macadam, or other hard roads, and doe improving, oil treating, or dragging.

The location and route of which said proposed roads are as follows:

1st.  A portion of the public highway in the Township of So. Grove C. of DeKalb and State of Ill. more particularly described as follows.  Beginning at the East Line of said Township of So. Grove and running thence West thru the center of Sect. twenty-five (25), Twenty-six (26), Twenty-seven (27), Twenty-eight (28), Twenty-nine (29) and Thirty (30), to the North and South Highway thru the center of said Section Thirty (30), adistance of Five and one half (5 ½) miles more or less.

2nd.  A portion of the public highway in the Township of So. Grove, Co. of DeKalb and State of Ill. more particularly described as follows:  Beginning at the center of Section Thirty of said Township and running thence North thru the center of Sections Thirty (30), Nineteen (19), Eighteen (18), and Seven (7), to the abutting East and West road about forty (40) rods North of the center of said Section Seven (7), a distance of three and one-eighth (3 1/8) miles more or less.

3rd.  A portion of the public highway in the Township of So. Grove, Co. of DeKalb and State of Ill. More particularly described as follows.  (over)
