Auditors Meeting Sept 1, 1925
At the regular meeting of the Board of Auditors Sept 1, 1925, all members of said board were present. All bills presented were ordered paid.
The undersigned Highway Comm. of Town of South Grove hereby certifies that at a regular meeting of said Comm. held on the first Tues. of Sept. (Sept. 1) A. D. 1925 at the office of the Town Clerk, for the purpose of determining the tax rate for Road and Bridge purposes to be certified by him to the Co. Board as provided by law, has determined the rate of tax necessary to be levied upon all the taxable property of South Grove Tnship (sic) for the proper construction, maintenance, and repair of roads + bridges, the purchase + repair of machinery, prevention and extripation [extirpation] of weeds, shall be 50¢. Fifty cents on each One Hundred Dollars valuation as assessed + equalized for the yr. A. D. 1926.
The said Comm. of Highways does hereby certify further that at the regular annual meeting held Sept. 1, A. D. 1926 he determined that the am’t (sic) necessary to be raised by taxation for the aforesaid purposes are as follows.
Construction of roads $2000.00
Maintenance “ “ $1500.00
Construction of bridges $ 500.00
Maintenance “ “ $ 500.00
Purchase of machinery $ 500.00
Repairs “ “ $ 100.00
Prevention and extripation [extirpation] of Weeds $ 200.00
Total $5300.00
Thus making the total amount necessary for above purposed in the said Town for said year Fifty-three Hundred Dollars, and it is hereby directed that the said amt. of money, or so much as may be approved by the Co. Board of DeKalb Co. be and the same is hereby levied for Road + Bridge Taxes against all the taxable property of said Town for the year A. D. 1926. (Signed) George Barnes, Highway Comm.
