balance on hand or $1765.43. The report of the Highway Commissioner was read and approved showing receipts of $10,717.68; expenditures of $6,998.57 and a balance on hand of $3,719.11. Motion made by C. G. McKenzie and seconded by F. N. Goelitz that the Town tax levy be accepted. The necessary amount of the tax required was $1600.00.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Five attended this meeting.

Fall Auditing Meeting
The meeting was held at the Town Hall at 1:30 P. M. Those present were C. G. McKenzie, F. H. McQueen, Fred Goelitz and George Jorgensen. All bills presented were ordered paid.
The Township Highway Commissioner requested the consent in writing of the Board of Auditors to levy a greater rate of taxation for road and bridge purposes for the year 1949 than .125 percent of the full fair cash value of the property of South Grove, and for the determination of the amount of such greater rate taxation.
After considering said request, it was moved and seconded that the Board of Auditors consent to said Commissioner levying an additional rate of 4¢ in addition to .125 percent, making a total rate of .165 percent of the full fair cash value of the taxable property of South Grove for road and bridge purposes, for the year 1949, and that amount of such additional tax be $4,950.00 and that said Board execute proper consent in writing for such additional levy, as required by law. Motion carried.
