Annual Town Meeting April 5, 1966

R. R. Duell was chosen as Moderator and at 1:00 P.M. said Moderator called a Meeting for a hearing on the proposed budget and Highway budget. At 2: P.M. the Town Meeting was called to order. The two budgets were approved. The Supervisor’s report was read and approved, including the General Assistance report.

The Annual Town tax levy was for $5000 and the General Assistance levy was $2000.

A vote by written ballott (sic) was taken to determine if the employees of South Grove Twp. Should be covered by Federal Social Security. Carried 7 to 0.

There being no further business, Meeting adjourned.

Special Auditing Meeting

The meeting was held at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall. The Supervisor, Clerk, Commissioner, and three Auditors were present. The Commissioners and Supervisor advised that a new International township truck was ready for delivery but there were not sufficient funds to pay for it and requested permission to borrow $4500 at the First National Bank of Malta. Permission was granted by the board of auditors. It was moved and seconded that the Township join the Ill Assn. of Twp. Officials for another year. Motion carried.

Current bills were paid and books audited. Meeting adjourned.

Fall Auditing Meeting Sept. 6, 1965

The meeting was held at the Town Hall at 2:00 P.M. All officers and auditors were present. After paying the bills presented and auditing the books, the Meeting adjourned.
