To the Commissioners of Highways of the Town of South Grove in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois.
We the undersigned land owners residing within two miles of the Road hereinafter described respectfully petiton [sic] you that you that you [sic] will proceed to lay out a new road of the width of sixty feet over the following described rout [sic] to wit:
Commencing at a stone in the present highway running North and South through section 23 in said Township said stone being the north-east corner of the lands of John E Adee, and running thence South 82 40’ west 3210 feet to the north and south ¼, ¼ section line running north and south through the south-east ¼ of section 22 in said Township, thence west 1320 ft. to the north and south ¼ section line of said section 22 in the center of the present road.
Said road will Pass over the lands of John E. Adee, George E. Adee and Robert Byers and we will ever pray
